Monday Mornings Blues (How to Improve Monday Morning Productivity)

For most people, Mondays bring about a higher level of “turbulence” or anxiety.  The same seems to happen after a long weekend or vacation. A lot of this has to do with our built-in negativity bias (the way we look at life), where we look at the week from a negative perspective and Monday morning provides a long “runway” for things to go wrong, for others to judge us etc.

Anxiety at work can be unpleasant… One tool I use when I have an anxious moment is to pause and feel the unpleasant feeling in my body, and then I ask myself: what am I believing about myself? This begins the journey of moving away from random negative thoughts that can cripple us, to an observation that our thoughts are not who we are, and we have a choice.
